KIDDIE KINGDOM DAYCARE CENTERS

"WHERE CHILDREN ARE TREATED LIKE ROYALTY"

REVISED February 2017

Dear Parents,

Kiddie Kingdom Daycare invites children, ages 6 weeks to 13 years to participate in our Program.  Robert and Patsy Kelch founded "Patsy's Pre-School Playschool" in 1988 and later changed the name to what we know today as "Kiddie Kingdom".  The couple's son, Brian Kelch, is the owner of both sites.

The purpose of this handbook is to inform parents of program content, policies, and procedures related to the Kiddie Kingdom Daycare Centers program.

The mission of Kiddie Kingdom Daycare is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for children of all ages, so that parents can work with a peace of mind that their children are being well taken care of.  The vision here at Kiddie Kingdom is to educate children today for a better tomorrow.

Kiddie Kingdom Daycare is open to all children regardless of race, color, sex, handicap, religion, or national origin.

You may contact Kiddie Kingdom II in Lenoir City @ (865) 986-3237 and speak with Brian Kelch (Owner) Crystal Ward (Director) or Kiddie Kingdom I in Philadelphia @ (865) 458-1663 and speak with Jessica Bowman (Director).  Please feel free to contact us with your ideas, comments, and/or suggestions.

Thank you for selecting Kiddie Kingdom Daycare as your Childcare Provider.

Sincerely,

Brian Kelch-Kiddie Kingdom Daycare Owner

We feel that all of the children deserve the opportunity to participate in a safe, healthy, and friendly atmosphere.  Teachers will not shout at children or put their hands on any child expect in a loving way.  Discipline for a child is one minute per year of age (ex. 3 year old would sit for 3 minutes.)  Teachers will try to reason with children and direct their attention to something else before using time-out.  TIME OUT IS A LAST RESORT. Time out is used as a cooling off period.  The child will be asked to sit quietly for a short period of time before returning to the group.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

The exchange of information about a child between the staff and a parent can be very helpful to the family and our program.  The staff will be better able to meet the needs of each child if they are aware of special circumstances in a child's life such as:  an illness in the family, birth of a new sibling, change in living arrangements, divorce, special fears, etc.  Children often exhibit signs of stress during such transitions and circumstances.  The Kiddie Kingdom Staff will be able to empathize with and encourage the children more appropriately with such information.

Parents are encouraged to observe and/or participate in Kiddie Kingdom activities whenever possible.  If you have a special talent or occupation that you would like to share with the children in the program, please let Brian or Jessica know and he/she will be delighted to arrange a time for you to do so.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT SURVEY

In your packet, you will find a parent involvement survey.  Kiddie Kingdom Management realizes that not all parents want to participate in the program in the same way.  The parent involvement survey helps Kiddie Kingdom know the best way to ask you for your involvement.

PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Parent Advisory Council helps evaluate and guide the program policies and content.  We Need You!!!  Please consider serving on the Parent Advisory Council.
